According to Annex I to OMTIC 910/2020, powered ultralight aircraft are considered the following:

  • Aircraft with no more than two seats, including the pilot, as follows:

               1. Powered parachutes (motorized parachutes, powered paragliders, paramotors);

               2. Powered hang gliders;

               3. Ultralight powered gliders (motor gliders, TMG);

               5. Ultralight gyrocopters (autogyros / gyroplanes);

               6. Ultralight helicopters;

               7. Ultralight airships.

  • Any of the aircraft mentioned above, which:
    a) have been particularly designed or modified for experimental, scientific or research purposes and will probably be produced in a very small number, or

    b) for which the manufacture and assembly tasks are performed for at least 51% by an amateur or an association of amateurs, for personal use and without commercial purposes, including aircraft provided in the form of an assembly kit.

Advanced powered ultralight aircraft are, in general, classes of aircraft that have been built according to technical regulations provided in Chapter 7 of RACR-CCO ULM; they have a they have a measurable lift speed or minimum speed for stabilized flight in landing configuration which does not exceed 65 km/h (Calibrated Air Speed - CAS).

Basic powered ultralight aircraft are, in general, classes of aircraft that have not been built according to technical regulations provided in Chapter 7 of RACR-CCO ULM; they have a measurable lift speed or minimum speed for stabilized flight in landing configuration which does not exceed 83 km//h (Calibrated Air Speed - CAS).
